We have no nestlings in any of the nest boxes. Two are empty, one has a partial chickadee nest inside, another has a new bluebird nest under construction. Still another has a bluebird nest being built over an old chickadee’s nest. One nest box has just fledged their chickadees.

The Cow Pasture nest box is empty, no activity.

Explore the Wild nest box, after having lost 5 nestlings, is currently empty.

Four chickadees fledged from the Sailboat Pond nest. The birds fledged while Volunteer Sammie and I were at the site!

There have been no changes to the Into the Mist nest box. It still has only a handful of nest material within.

It looks as though bluebirds may be interested in nesting in the Parking Deck East box, it has a few pine needles in its berry basket (bluebirds).

Bluebirds have started a new nest on top of the old chickadee nest in Parking Deck West box. I hadn’t had time to clear out the chickadee material from the chickadees use of the box, the bluebirds beat me to it. Though it’s yet to be seen if they will continue with the nest.

And that’s it for this week. No eggs or nestlings in any of our six nest boxes though there are new nests in the works. Noteworthy are four chickadee fledglings from the Sailboat Pond nest box.
