Our 6 box Bluebird Trail has seen positive activity this past week. We have seven eggs, five bluebird and two chickadee eggs. Additions have been made to another of our chickadee nests, but still no eggs in that one.

The Cow Pasture nest box remains empty with no birds showing interest at that site.

Explore the Wild is spotless with not a beakful of moss, or grass stems in the case of bluebirds.

The sailboat Pond nest, a chickadee nest, is complete and ready for eggs.

Into the Mist has an empty berry basket inside its cedar walls. This is usually a bluebird site, but nothing yet.

Last week the Parking Deck East nest box contained four bluebird eggs. It now holds five eggs. There was a female inside, which means she was either laying another egg or incubating what was already there. Either way, it’s progress.

Again, last week the Parking Deck West nest box had a nearly complete chickadee’s nest inside. There were 2 well hidden eggs in the nest on this morning’s inspection of the box.

So, we now have seven eggs, five bluebird and two chickadee eggs. In total there are three active nests Parking Deck East and West, and the Sailboat Pond nest box which is ready for eggs.
