Top Photo: Eastern bluebird, male.
We have only one active nest. There’s minimal nest material in two of the nest boxes, but it hasn’t been worked for weeks. One nest box which was started by bluebirds in early May, became a project in progress by house wrens, has now switched back to bluebirds and is ready for action.

The Cow Pasture, Explore the Wild, Sailboat Pond, Into the Mist, and Parking Deck East nest boxes are all empty and inactive.
The nest box at Parking Deck West (PKW) is now, again, eastern bluebird territory. As of June 13 it had 3 bluebird eggs inside. It appears the female was incubating at the time of the inspection since she was in the box as we approached. Though, she could have been prepping to add to the brood by laying another egg.

So, no new nests other than the bluebird nest at PKW with its 3 eggs. It doesn’t seem likely there will be more nests, but only the birds can determine that.
See you next time!
