The one, and pretty much only, Butterfly Weed plant out in Catch the Wind is about to cast its seeds to the wind. There are no leaves on the plant, just a bunch of scrawny looking stalks and some seed pods.
But don’t pass by that one lonely milkweed plant out in Catch the Wind without stopping to give it the once-over. There are creatures present worth examining. A few weeks back I mentioned here in this Journal that there were Large Milkweed Bugs on the plant.

There are now nymphs present.

I’ve also mentioned Swamp Milkweed Leaf Beetle being on the plants.

The larvae from a previous coming together of a pair of beetles have recently pupated and become adult beetles.

It pays to keep your eyes open, even if at first glance the scene looks rather stark. Take a closer look, you may find something interesting.

Stay tuned and you will see….
Just wanted you to know that I spent the majority of the night going over your blog and I am very impressed. Can’t wait to see what you find next. I am at work, not some crazy loon that just stays up all night. …
Thanks, Leslie.
I hope you’re getting some work done and not just looking at the blog, don’t want to be the cause of you getting fired!
